Give me no days more brilliant than I know,
The birch outside my window soothes my soul,
And even as the fleeting hours come and go,
Life's beauties to my wakened eyes unroll.
Give me no skies more beautiful than these,
'Neath which I sit beside you all elate,
All that I covet is life's warming breeze,
That leaves me breathless at the door of fate.
